Airport, Shuttle, Train, Taxi - Please be sure that you are familiar with this information and read it carefully, planning flights accordingly. More detailed information will be sent prior to the festival. Click on tabs for information. The festival shuttle is only for registered students and guests.

  • ✈ Airport and Shuttle 🚌

    • Participants fly into ✈ Milan - Malpensa Airport (MXP).
    • InterHarmony International Music Festival provides a complimentary private shuttle bus from ✈ Milan Malpensa Airport at the beginning and end of the Session I. Be careful when booking your flights to make sure you are booking them to Milan Malpensa, the largest airport in Milan.
    • 🚌 Shuttle Times:
      • Arrival Shuttles from ✈ Milan Malpensa Airport to Acqui Terme, Alessandria, Piemonte, Italy. (Makes stops at Grand Hotel Nuove Terme):
        Session I: July 5, 2017 at 12:00pm (noon) and
        Session II: July 18, 2017 at 12:00pm (noon)

      • For one half-hour prior to the 🚌 shuttle's departure, beginning at 11:30am, a festival representative will be at Terminal 1 at Milan Malpensa Airport to greet festival participants and guide them to the 🚌 shuttle.

      • Departure Shuttles from Acqui Terme, Alessandria, Piemonte, Italy to ✈ Milan Malpensa Airport:
        Session I: July 17, 2017 at 6:00am and
        Session II: July 30, 2017 at 6:00am

    • The last concert of Session I will take place on the evening of July 16, 2017.

    • The last concert of Session II will take place on the evening of July 29, 2017.

    • Approximate travel time from Acqui Terme to the ✈ Airport is 2 hours.

    *Please note: If unable to meet the arrival and departure times of the 🚌 shuttle service, participants of the festival are responsible for their own transportation and the costs incurred.

      Step 1. From Milan Malpensa Airport to Milan Centrale (Milan Main Train Station)

    • In order to travel from ✈ Milan Malpensa Airport to Acqui Terme, you must take the 🚂 Malpensa Express to get to the Milan Centrale (Milan Main Train Station).

    • The 🚂 The Malpensa Express is the direct train that serves the route between the airport and the center of the city of Milan every 30 minutes. Approximate travel time to Milan Centrale is 43 minutes.

    • Step 2. 🚂 Train from Milan Centrale to Acqui Terme

    • Purchase a ticket for Acqui Terme. There will be at least one transfer, usually in Alessandria.

  • Shuttle to ✈ Milan Malpensa Airport

    • This information is for students who are traveling from the Session II in Italy to Session III in Germany. Please note that there is one day between Session II and Session III in 2017. First take the 🚌 Departure Shuttle from Acqui Terme to ✈ Milan Malpensa Airport on July 30, 2017 at 6:00am.
    • We recommend students fly to Munich or Nuremberg from Milan. There are direct flights to Munich only. The flight to Munich is about one hour and the flight to Nuremberg is around 3 hours with a transfer, and can be more depending on the transfer.
    • It is also possible to take a train from Milan or Acqui Terme to Sulzbach-Rosenberg.

    • *Please note: Students are responsible for their own travel and costs incurred when transfering from Milan to Sulzbach-Rosenberg and the festival does not cover hotel for stays in between Session II and Session III.

    🚂 Train from ✈ Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport to Sulzbach-Rosenberg

    • Take the 🚄 S-Bahn (Subway) from ✈ Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (München Flughafen) to Munich central train station (München Hbf)
    • Take the 🚂 ICE (Intercity Express) train from Munich central train station (München Hbf) to Nuremberg central train station (Nürnberg Hbf).
    • From the Nuremberg central train station (Nürnberg Hbf), take the 🚂 train to Sulzbach-Rosenberg: Sulzbach-Rosenberg Bahnhof

      Be sure to ask which 🚂 train car is correct because the front and back cars are usually disconnected and sent in a different direction.

    • From the Sulzbach-Rosenberg Bahnhof train stop, take a 🚖 cab to the hotel.
      • 🚖 Cabs arrive at the train station whenever a train arrives.
      • The drive is approximately 5 minutes and costs 5-6 euro.
