Nicolò Torciani, percussion

Italian percussionist NICOLÒ TORCIANI entered the world of pop and jazz drums at the age of 11, studying classical percussion at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Voghera with M. Antonio Buccino and M. Loris Stefanuto.

In the following years he played with bands of different genres, focusing mainly on Pop, Rock and Funk as a permanent member and session musician of bands (Ashpipe, Dirty Dolls) playing around 200 concerts in Italy, England, Germany, Switzerland, Finland and Poland.

He currently plays with the ska-punk band Ashpipe under the Kob Records label, with whom he played at the Rebellion Festival 2022 (Blackpool, UK).

He is also involved in official and recognized tribute bands (Cuorevivo Nomadi Tribute Band, Ora Live Tribute Band Gigi d'Alessio) with whom he has played in festivals and fairs throughout Italy (Collegno Folk Festival).

Alongside his live activity, he continued his studies of percussion instruments at the ISSM Vittadini in Pavia with M. Marco Scazzetta, where he did an Erasmus at the Conservatory of Besançon in France.

He is currently enrolled in the orchestral improvement courses with M. Loris Stefanuto at the Nicolini Conservatory of Piacenza.

In the classical field, he currently collaborates as a timpanist and percussionist with orchestras such as the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra Cittá di Vigevano, the Orchestra del Lago di Como (Sinfolario Orchestra), and the Orchestra Lombardia Lirica, performing in operatic and symphonic festivals both outdoors and in theatres (Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, Teatro Cagnoni in Vigevano, Teatro Sociale in Como, Teatro Fraschini in Pavia).

In the studio, he recorded at the Officine Meccaniche in Milan for the composer Oderigi Lusi with the Pergolesi Orchestra conducted by M. Giulio Marazia, at the Try Studio in Pontecurone (AL) and at the Gain Studios (Pavia).

He has held numerous masterclasses with internationally renowned percussionists and drummers including Simone Rubino, Edoardo Giachino (Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia), Fausto Bombardieri (Maggio Musicale Fiorentino), Carmelo Gullotto (RAI National Symphony Orchestra), Christian Meyer (Elio e le Storie Tese), Lele Melotti, Giorgio di Tullio, Federico Paulovich.
