
Kazimierz Skowronek, violin
Dr. Kazimierz Skowronek spent a thirty-year term as second Concertmaster of the Odense Symphony Orchestra in Odense, Denmark until 2023. He has also served as Associate Professor with a Habilitation Doctorate (postgraduate doctorate) at the Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice, Poland for thirty years. Skowronek was on the jury of an extensive list of violin competitions in Częstochowa (where he was chairman), Warsaw, Cieszyn, Rybnik, Chorzów, Jasło, Kielce, Katowice. He has presented many Master Classes and lectures in Polish cities including Warszawa, Częstochowa, Rycerka Górna, Katowice, Chorzów, Inowrocław, Dębica, Zabrze, Szarlota, Nysa, and in Denmark’s Odense and Copenhagen.
Skowronek is a concertmaster, soloist with orchestra, and chamber musician, and as such, performs anything from duets up to septets. As a soloist, Skowronek has appeared with such orchestras as the Odense Symphony Orchestra, orchestras in Kraków, Rzeszów, Łódź, Zielona Góra, Jelenia Góra, the Szymanowski Academy Symphony, and such chamber orchestras as the Silesian Chamber Orchestra, Odense Domkirkes Kammerorkester, and Jeunesses Musicales Orchestra in Katowice.
His beloved and extensive chamber music concerts include music from the Baroque period up to newly composed works in various ensembles in: Denmark, Poland, Germany, Australia, New Zealand.
As concertmaster of the Odense Symphony Orchestra Skowronek hes performed in hundreds of concerts (anything from small ensembles, huge symphonies, and operas). He was also part of the in COE (Chamber Orchestra of Europe) His dozens of recordings portray all musical periods, and include Carl Nielsen's Violin Sonatas, Astor Piazzolla album (in quintet), and Paul Ruders „Credo”.
His students are prizewinners at the violin competitions in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Częstochowa, Warsaw, Sosnowiec, Wrocław, Montenegro. Among his graduates are chamber music players, orchestra players in Poland, France, Denmark, South Korea, Germany, and teachers in Poland, Denmark, Germany, Canada.
Kazimierz is the winner of the International Violin Competition in Adelaide, Australia and the Szymanowski International Music Competition in Łódź, Poland.
His last teachers were famous soloists: Kaja Danczowska (Music Academy in Kraków - diploma with distinction) and Wanda Wiłkomirska (post-graduate in Hochschule fuer Musik Heidelberg -Mannheim).
