
Artist Faculty Performance Spotlight
Diana Tarin, violin
A Diana Tarín is an accomplished Spanish violinist and passionate educator with over a decade of experience inspiring students of all ages. Originally from Valencia, Spain, Diana began playing violin at the age of six and trained at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Valencia. Her musical journey led her to The Royal Conservatory of Madrid, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Violin Performance, and later to Sam Houston State University (Texas), where she completed her Master’s under the mentorship of Dr. Javier Pinell.
As a performer, Diana has graced national and international stages with orchestras including the Symphony Orchestra of the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, Orquesta Filarmonía under Pascual Osa, The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra, and the Texarkana and Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra, among others. Her orchestral work is complemented by an extensive chamber music career in ensembles ranging from string quartets to piano trios. Beyond the stage, Diana is known for her dynamic, student-centered teaching approach. She currently leads as the Director of the Violin Program at Vivaldi Music Academy and heads the String Department at Overture School of Music in Houston. Her methodology combines classical rigor with creativity and emotional intelligence, adapting to each student's learning style and interests.
Diana has a rich background in community engagement and music outreach. She co-founded the Huntsville Youth Orchestra, bringing orchestral training to children from underprivileged communities. She has taught violin and conducted school orchestras, always with a focus on inclusivity, personal growth, and artistic expression.
Her students consistently describe her as nurturing, energetic, and deeply committed to their progress. With fluency in Spanish, Catalan, and English, and a background in psychology, Diana brings empathy and global perspective to her teaching philosophy.
