    Yueh Chou, bassoon

    Dr. Yueh Chou is known for her work on Modern and Historical Bassoons. She holds a Certificate Diploma (2007) on both Baroque and Classical Bassoons at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, the Netherlands; a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the Juilliard School (1994) and both Masters and Doctorate (2000) degrees in Music (with minors in Baroque Bassoon and Music Education) from the University of Southern California. Dr. Chou has extensive performance and teaching experience. She has been teaching Bassoon at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College Division since 2001, Chabot College in Hayward since 2009, and at San Jose State University since 2011. She has also taught Master Classes at Fu-Jen University in Taiwan and has been the judge for the Concerto competition at Stanford University for the last two years.

    Dr. Chou has performed in the major concert halls in the United State and in Europe, including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Den Haag, Amsterdam (Muziekgebouw aan't IJ) in the Netherlands, Geel and Chimay (Theatre du Chateau) in Belgium, as well as at the National Concert Hall in Taiwan.

    Dr. Chou’s major teachers have included Stephen Paulson, Stephen Maxym, Frank Morelli, Rose Corrigan, as well as huge influence by Dennis Godburn and Christopher Millard.
