Nicole Rabata, flute
Flutist Nicole Rabata is widely recognized for her captivating and engaging performances as a soloist and chamber musician.
Mrs. Rabata has appeared with critical acclaim at international festivals and concert halls throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Recent highlights include performances at the International Flute Festival of Lund, Sweden and the Magic Flute Festival in Stockholm; Portland Chamber Music Festival; White Mountain Bach Festival; Acadia Festival of Traditional Music and Arts; Festival Interceltique du L’Orient in France; Hebridean Celtic Festival in Scotland; International World of Music and Dance Festival in the UK; and chamber music performances in Kalimpong, India. She has been on the artist faculty at the Interharmony International Music Festivals in SulzbachRosenberg, Germany and Arcidosso, Italy. Mrs. Rabata was a guest artist and lecturer at the National Flute Conventions in both San Diego and New York City. Mrs. Rabata appears with the Maine State Ballet, Portland Ballet, PortOpera, Bangor Symphony Orchestra, Maine ProMusica Symphony Orchestra, HogFish opera company, Medomak Valley Conductor’s Retreat and Maine Chamber Ensemble among others.
An avid chamber musician, Mrs. Rabata is a member of the Bayside Trio and Colby Faculty Winds. She is a chamber coach and adjudicator at Bay Chamber Concerts’ Next Generation Program, and the Young Stars of Maine competition and has also been chamber music coach and music program co-director for two months at the Ghandi Ashram School in Northeast Bengal, India. She was a founding member of Harlequine, former Ensemble in Residence at Bowdoin College.
Holding an International Artist Diploma and Masters Degree in Performance from Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England, she is Music Associate in flute at Colby College. She has also been on the artist faculty at Bowdoin College and the University of Maine at Augusta.
