Lei Zhang, violin
Lei Zhang, violinist and instructor. He was graduated from Tianjin Conservotory of Music in 1986, where he also taught for two years. In 1988 he received a full scholarship for his master of music studies in Oklahoma City University with Prof. Lacy McLarry.
Mr. Zhang has worked as a full-time violinist with Arkansas Symphony and Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra both in the United States and China. He has taught at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, the University of Central Arkansas, the Youth Conservotory of San Jose State University, East Bay Violin Academy of San Francisco. His students had won so many top prices of the international competitions, and the high score passed the ABRSM grades.
As a violin soloist and chamber musician Mr. Zhang has played many concerts with the Quapaw String Quartet, Mission Piano Trio, Ohlone Orchestra, Huashi Chamber Orchestra, and the OCU Symphony. The Lei Zhang violin solo and chamber music CD was released in 2001.
As a music director and conductor Mr. Zhang has worked with Fremont Youth Symphony, the Stars Youth Orchestra, and Shenzhen-Aimu Salon Chamber Orchestra.
