Stacy Simpson, trumpet
Dr. Stacy Simpson is an American trumpeter and educator whose work bridges performance, teaching, and creative collaboration. She serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Bellarmine University, where she teaches applied trumpet, coaches chamber ensembles, and mentors emerging musicians in developing both artistry and professional confidence. As a performer, Dr. Simpson is passionate about chamber music, collaborative projects, and programming that connects audiences to music in meaningful, immediate ways. Her playing is noted for its warmth of sound, musical sensitivity, and expressive range — qualities she brings equally to solo and ensemble settings. She is especially committed to helping young musicians discover their own artistic voice while building the technical foundation required for a sustainable career. In addition to her university work, she is active as a clinician and guest artist, known for engaging masterclasses that combine practical technique, musical interpretation, and honest discussion about the realities of the music profession. Her teaching philosophy centers on listening, communication, and the idea that great music-making is rooted in both discipline and imagination. Dr. Simpson is delighted to join the artistic community of the InterHarmony International Music Festival, where she looks forward to performing and working with talented musicians from around the world.
