Jeesong Ahn, violin/viola
Jeesong Ahn is a violinist, educator, and conductor based in Southern California. She currently serves as a string faculty at California State University, Fullerton, where she teaches string methods to undergraduate music education majors. She is also the Assistant Director and Violin Instructor for the Orange Community Christian Youth Orchestra, a non-profit organization based in Anaheim, California, where she has worked for over a decade. She currently serves as a conductor for Shekinah Youth String Ensemble and works with a group of students from elementary to middle schoolers.
In addition to her academic and youth orchestra work, Ahn is an active performer and a member of the Shekinah Chamber Ensemble where she currently serves as principal second violinist. As a performer, she has participated in master classes and studied with numerous artists, including Hal Grossman, Roman Patocka (from Talich Quartet), Jan Talich (from Talich Quartet), Wei Wei Le, Wei Tsun Chang, Winfried Rademacher, Boro Martinic, and Felix Olschofska.
With extensive experience as a private violin instructor, Ahn is passionate about building strong technical foundations, musical confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music in students of all ages.
Ahn holds two master's degrees in Violin Performance from the University of Oklahoma and Violin Pedagogy Performance from Arizona State University, and a bachelor's degree from California State University, Fullerton. She has studied with Dr. Ernest Salem, Hal Grossman, and Danwen Jiang.
