Jeanne Jaubert, cello
Cellist Jeanne Jaubert holds a Bachelor of Music from Rice University and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Rutgers University where she had the honor of studying with Grande Dame du Violoncelle Zara Nelsova.
She has enjoyed an almost 3-decade long career based mostly in America's most musical city, New Orleans. She joined the Louisiana Philharmonic in 1998, and a year later she also founded a modern dance company (her other artistic passion in life) that created bold new works, many of them in collaboration with composers and live musicians.
Having a knack for crafting programs that really speak to audiences, she was instrumental over the years in developing several innovative series with the Louisiana Philharmonic, including Find the Phil, Music at Museums, and various online offerings during the pandemic.
In 2021 she completed construction of a small concert hall, designed by renowned architect Wayne Troyer, in New Orleans' most musical neighborhood, The Tremé, where she presents a thriving, genre-crossing concert series.
Dr. Jaubert teaches privately and her students are always up to interesting things.
