    Jane Kittredge, violin

    Violinist, teacher and curator Jane Kittredge earned her Bachelor and Masters of Music degrees at the Mannes College of Music under the tutelage of Sally Thomas, Lucie Robert, Laurie Smukler, Garrett Fischbach and Evelyn Read. Her solo performance engagements, ensemble tours and chamber festival appearances have brought her across the United States, throughout Mexico, London, Beijing, Italy, Canada and the French Alps. Based in Shelburne, Vermont, Jane can be seen and heard playing with her contemporary string quartet, Skylark, the Vermont Symphony, the Springfield Symphony, and has performed with a variety of regional ensembles including the Opera Company of Middlebury, the VSO's Jukebox quartet, TURN music, Opera North, the Middlebury Bach Festival, the Burlington Choral Society and Eleva Chamber Players.

    Jane's classical training has allowed her to perform in a number music styles ranging from early Baroque to folk, jazz rock to pop, and everything in between. Jane's collaborations include performances with Guster, Trey Anastasio, Grace Potter, Ray Vega, Dionne Warwick, Béla Fleck, Lucius, Bajofondo, Gregory Alan Isakov and Sarah McLachlan.     An avid educator, Jane is the Violin Professor at the University of Vermont and maintains a small private studio. She also is a teacher and coach at the Middlebury Community Music Center's Summer Chamber Music Camp in Middlebury, Vermont.

    Jane is an active member of Vermont's arts community and currently serves on both the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival Board and the Vermont Symphony Orchestra Board. She is the orchestra manager and contractor for the Burlington Choral Society, Bella Voce vocal ensemble and the Aurora Chamber Singers.

    A native of Middlesex, Vermont, Jane is the youngest of five children. When not playing, Jane loves to run, sing, hike, bake, dance, spoil her nieces and nephews, and shamelessly indulge in her addiction to European Soccer.
