    David Lintz, horn

    David Lintz has held Orchestra positions in Europe and America. He was Principal Horn with the St. Gallen Symphony in Switzerland from 1985 to 1999 and Third Horn with the Detmold Lanestheater Orchestra in Germany from 1983 to 1985. With the St. Gallen Orchestra he performed Mozart's 2nd and 4th Concertos in addition to the Strauss 1st Concerto. He also completed a Soloist Diploma at the Lucerne Conservatory. In the summers David was a member ot the Colorado Music Festival and the Sunflower Music Festival where he performed Schuman's Konzertstuk with Jim Thacher. Before working in Europe he earned his Bachelor of Music degree at the New England Conservatory while performing 4th horn with the Springfield Symphony in Massachusetts. After returning to America in 1999, David served as Principal Horn with the Pittsburgh Ballet and Opera Orchestras, substitute horn with the Pittsburgh Symphony and hired as a local musician on Broadway National tours such as the Lion King and Wicked. In 2018 he played a season as Principal Horn with the Hawaii Symphony. David Lintz now resides in St. George Utah, where he teaches at Utah Tech and Southern Utah University. He is currently Principal horn with the Southwest Symphony, where he recently performed the Ewasen Concerto and plays Broadway shows at the Tuacahn Center for the Arts.
