    Vitaly Leykin, violin

    Vitaly Leykin graduated from the Gorky State Conservatory in Gorky, USSR (now Nizhny Novgord, Russia). From 1976 to 1992 he played the first violin in the Gorky Academic Symphony Orchestra. During the same time, he worked at the Gorky Conservatory of Music and was an active performer of chamber music, both in concert performances and in radio and television broadcasts.

    In 1992, he moved to the United States, where he currently teaches violin in his studio in San Jose, California. His students have frequently won various competitions and, as winners of concerto competitions, performed as soloists with symphony orchestras. Many of his former students have continued their violin studies at such prestigious schools of music as USC, San Francisco Conservatory, Peabody School of Music, UC Berkeley, New England Conservatory of Music, etc.
