Doyeon Kim, piano
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Doyeon Kim has started playing the piano at the age of 4. In 2003 at age 11, she made her performing debut at ‘Young artist concert’ in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do. A year later, she got accepted to study at Sun-wha arts school, where she won awards as an honor student during her school years. She went on to study Bachelor at the Yonsei University with Prof. Young-ho Kim in 2010. Throughout her studying in South Korea, Kim was granted many prominent awards such as Joong-ang music Competition, Eumyoun Competition, Segye-Ilbo Competition, Sunwha Competition and Eumakchunchu Concours.
In 2015, she has won 2nd prize at Troisdorf International Piano Competition in Germany, the following year she has distinguished herself at Caraglio International Piano Competition in Italy. She has performed in Caraglio chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, Opernfoyer des Theaters in Duisburg, S'ulenbasilika Sankt Georg in K*ln, Troisdorf Tonhalle, Wattenscheid, Dortmund, D+sseldorf, and Olomouc Redouta hall in Czech Republic.
She has performed with Moravian Philharmonic, performed at Folkwang Beethoven Zyklus, SSF fringe festival, Seoul International Music Festival, Duisburger Weichnachtskonzert, Forum fur junge Pianisten Recital in Duisburg. She has won 1st prize at Kohler-Osbahr Competition, awarded Der Dr. Alfred Hoff Sonderpreis zur Forderung junger PianistInnen and 3rd prize at Anton Rubinstein Competition in Germany. Since 2015, she has been studying solo works and instrumental duo as a student of Prof. Henri Sigfridsson and Prof. Evgueni Sinaiski at Folkwang University in Germany.
